{"id":565,"date":"2014-01-23T16:44:16","date_gmt":"2014-01-23T22:44:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kevinkgipson.com\/?p=565"},"modified":"2014-01-23T16:44:16","modified_gmt":"2014-01-23T22:44:16","slug":"vince-young-files-for-chapter-11-bankruptcy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kevinkgipson.com\/?p=565","title":{"rendered":"Vince Young Files For Chapter 11 Bankruptcy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kevinkgipson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Vince-Young.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-569\" alt=\"Vince Young\" src=\"https:\/\/kevinkgipson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Vince-Young.png\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" \/><\/a>Former NFL Quarterback Vince Young has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.txs.uscourts.gov\/bankruptcy\/\" target=\"_blank\">Southern District of Texas<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The bankruptcy case was filed on January 14, 2014 in the Houston based bankruptcy court and bears Docket Number 14-30400.<\/p>\n<p>Click on the link below to view the initial filing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kevinkgipson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Young.Vince_.Chapter-11.pdf\">Vince Young&#8217;s Chapter 11 Bankruptcy<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Young&#8217;s financial troubles stem from loans totaling $1.8 million\u00a0that he took out during the 2011 NFL lockout.\u00a0 A judgment including interest and attorney&#8217;s fees in the amount of $2.5 million was rendered in New York against Young\u00a0in favor of\u00a0Pro Player Funding.<\/p>\n<p>A New York state court has granted a judgment against Young to Pro Player Funding, the New York company that made the loan to Young and his associates, which along with interest has grown to more than $2.5 million, a Pro Player attorney told the Chronicle.<\/p>\n<p>Pro Player Funding was in the process of attempting to enforce the judgment in Texas at the time of the bankruptcy filing.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a title=\"Vince Young\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vince_Young\" target=\"_blank\">Wikipedia<\/a>, Young was drafted by the Tennessee Titans and was the third overall draft choice in the 2006 NFL Draft.\u00a0 He spent the first five seasons of his career with the Titans, played for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011 and started the 2012 season with the Buffalo Bills, but was cut before the start of the 2012 season.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former NFL Quarterback Vince Young has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.
