Jefferson Parish Courts Suspend Court Proceedings.

24th Judicial District Court for the Parish of Jefferson

The Chief Judge of the 24th Judicial District Court for Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, Judge Ellen S. Kovach, issued an order suspending all scheduled matters in the 24th Judicial District Court for the Parish of Jefferson Parish, Louisiana.

First Parish Court, Second Parish Court and the Jefferson Parish Juvenile Court have issued similar orders.

The order closed the Court on March 16, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. It will not reopen until April 13, 2020 at 8:00 a.m.

Pleadings can be filed either electronically or by fax.

Jury trials are suspend until May 15, 2020.

Individuals with pending criminal matters must report to the Division to which their case is assigned between April 13, 2020 and May 15, 2020 to obtain a new hearing date.
